SEAT is at the top of its game when it comes to styling its sporty models at the moment, the Leon Cupra we tested a few months back is proof of that, the car snapping necks on every high street we took it to. SEAT brought some Spanish heat to the recent Geneva International Motor Show with the unveiling of its new concept car, the Bocanegra. Literally translated as 'black mouth', the Bocanegra has more than a hint of VW's IROC concept and new Scirocco about it, an eye-catching semi-transparent black front end giving the car its name. With aggressive, sharp lines and a whole host of trick touches including striking rear LED clusters and a vast panoramic sunroof, the car is the work of former Lamborghini design chief Luc Donckerwolke and caused quite a stir in the halls at Geneva. SEAT says the car strongly hints at the future styling direction of the brand, while SEAT aficionados should spot the links to the original Bocanegra, the legendary 1970s 1200 Sport. Like the IROC concept did, we hope that the Bocanegra doesn't lose too much of its character if it is put into production and if done so in its current state, it looks to be another winner from the Spanish firm for sure.
